The Grade II listed Bar at The Red Lion Inn oozes charm and character with its low ceilings, two Chesterfield sofas, open fire and wooden floor. The bar tables, with their high-backed upholstered settles, are often the preferred option for more informal dining. There are always four local real ales to be enjoyed on the pumps.

We strive to offer you a true taste of the region, with both our food and our drinks. There are always four local real ales on the hand pumps, three of which are semi-permanent fixtures: our own ale, Red & Black, brewed for us by local brewer Nethergate, Woodforde’s Wherry (Norfolk) and Adnams Bitter (Suffolk), with the other pumps rotating between smaller local micro breweries, such as City of Cambridge Hobson’s Choice, Crafty Beers Sauvignon Blonde and Brandon Rusty Bucket.

We have over 50 wines on offer, supplied by Suffolk’s Adnams Wine and Matthew Clark. It’s a pretty comprehensive list, covering the noted regions and containing a few lesser known gems, accommodating most pockets and palates. At any one time 17 of these wines are available by the 175ml or 250ml glass, as well as a small selection of wines by the half bottle.
