Alex and the teams
Welcome to the multi award-winning Red Lion Inn, a privately owned free house pub restaurant with bed & breakfast accommodation that has resided at the heart of the pretty conservation village of Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, since the 16th Century.
This historic, Grade II listed building provides the perfect backdrop for enjoying fabulous food and drink, in the company of friends, family and colleagues. Exposed beams, well stoked fires and Chesterfield sofas invite you to stay a while and relax, while an impressive oak, dry peg extension is an elegant, spacious room in which to dine.
In the warmer months, the inn’s quintessentially English, Cambridge walled garden is a tranquil setting in which to eat, drink and socialise under the watchful gaze of the dovecote and village church clock tower.
The menu comprises contemporary and traditional dishes, created with culinary flair and using only the freshest, locally sourced seasonal produce.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
The Bar
The Grade II listed Bar at The Red Lion Inn oozes charm and character with its low ceilings, two Chesterfield sofas, open fire and wooden floor. The bar tables, with their high-backed upholstered settles, are often the preferred option for more informal dining. There are always four local real ales to be enjoyed on the pumps.
The Restaurant
Our chefs create a blend of classic British cooking with new and exciting flavours by using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients.
Choose from popular Classics of The Red Lion Inn or from the A La Carte or daily specials board. The team pride themselves on offering something for every taste and occasion.
We are pleased to offer the same menu and high levels of service throughout the pub, encouraging guests to eat or drink where they feel most comfortable.
The Rooms
The eight contemporary & comfortable guest rooms are set apart from the rest of the pub, discretely positioned in the grounds for minimum impact on the main Grade II listed building, and enjoying their own private garden area. They are a flint and brick construction, in keeping with many of the houses in the conservation village.
Meeting rooms
We have the perfect location and facilities to host your business meetings and off-site functions. Accommodation, meeting rooms, catering, projectors and other AV kit are all available.
